Your session takes place in my private, fully equipped In-home studio in Cary, where the environment is warm, safe, and peaceful. With controlled lighting, soft backdrops, and carefully curated props, your baby will be comfortable while I guide each pose gently and safely.
This is more than a photo session—it’s a calm, all-inclusive experience where every image is captured with care, artistry, and a focus on the connection between your family members.
The Studio
Sessions take place in my private, light-filled in-home studio, thoughtfully designed for newborn comfort and timeless imagery.
Best Timing for Newborn Sessions
A newborn studio session also works best during the first days of life, ideally within the first 7–10 days after birth.
During this window, babies are naturally sleepier, more flexible, and still curl comfortably into womb-like positions. This makes it possible to gently guide them into classic newborn poses on the bean bag and in more detailed setups — always safely and with your baby’s comfort as the priority.
As babies grow past the 10-day mark, they begin to stretch out more, become more alert, and may be more sensitive to movement. At that stage, we absolutely can (and do) still schedule newborn sessions, but the approach shifts slightly. Sessions after 10 days are typically more wrap-focused, which helps babies feel secure and settled while still creating beautiful, timeless images.
Whether your baby is just a few days old or a little past that early window, the studio environment allows us to adapt the session to your baby’s needs — ensuring a calm experience and meaningful photographs that celebrate this fleeting season.
When Should You Schedule Your Newborn Session?
The best time to book your newborn session is as soon as you find out you’re pregnant. It’s never too early to secure your spot.
Newborn photography has a very small window, and studio availability is limited—especially during busy seasons. Booking early ensures you have a reserved place on my calendar without the stress of trying to find last-minute availability after your baby arrives.
Your session is scheduled based on your due date, not a fixed day. Once your baby is born, we’ll adjust the session date as needed. If your baby arrives earlier or later than expected, we’ll simply shift the session to match your baby’s arrival and developmental stage.
Planning ahead allows for a relaxed, flexible experience—so when your baby is here, all you need to focus on is enjoying those first days together.

Family and sibling portraits are photographed at the beginning of the session, when everyone is fresh and ready. This keeps the flow smooth and ensures we don’t add unnecessary time to what can be a long and tiring day for parents and children.
